Presto Chango! English Words Become Spanish

Don’t you wish you could wave a magic wand and instantly know a large list of Spanish vocabulary?  Well, there is no magic wand but there is a way to rapidly increase your vocabulary by understanding something about word endings.

There are word endings in English that are related to word endings in Spanish. If you know the relationship of these word endings, you can make some slight changes and transform many English words into Spanish words.

Although the word endings are related, this doesn’t mean you’ll always be able to just swap out endings to get the correct Spanish word.  But, quite often it really is that simple.

By no means are these lists meant to be comprehensive for each word ending. I want to show you enough examples that you begin to see the relationship and the patterns of the word endings.  You can use the lists I’ve provided and add to them as you discover new words that apply.

By grouping these words together you’ll make your study time much more effective.

Important Note: Not all of the words in these lists are common words but I need to include them so show you the patterns.  In keeping with our goal of learning the most common words, you can skip studying the uncommon words after you’ve reviewed them here.

Here is a quick overview and I’ll write a separate blog post with examples for each one:
