It’s On Like Spanish Donkey Kong!

Now that you have begun to learn lots of new words, it’s game time.

There is nothing sillier than learning Spanish by playing games.  That’s why I think games should be in everyone’s arsenal of goodies.

My favorite game is Spanish Bananagrams (aka Bananagrams en Español).  It’s very similar to Scrabble but you don’t play with a board, you just lay the squares out on the table as you create and connect new words. Whoever uses up all their letter tiles first is the winner.

There are two big reasons I prefer this game over Scrabble Spanish. First, because there is no board, you can take the game with you wherever you go; you just need a flat surface to play. The second reason I prefer it is because you can play with just one player.

This is a great game for beginners because you don’t have to already know a lot of vocabulary to play.  Simply grab your Spanish/English dictionary and look words up as you play.

Of course, there are plenty of other games available that will help you learn Spanish. Here are a few I recommend.

You can find the list with links to each game on this page: http://sillyspanish.com/games
